A solid 2nd installment

Taylor's history catches up to him in this convoluted tale. His and Will's relationship gets tighter.

A favorite!

Would you listen to Old Poison again? Why?

Old Poison is my favorite of the series. I enjoy re-reading this series and i enjoy re-listening to it too. Adrian Bisson's narration, especially his Taylor voice, is fantastic, i just love listening to him.

What other book might you compare Old Poison to and why?

- Old Poison is the second book in the Dangerous Ground series, so i recommend the other books in this series (first four are in audio). I'd recommend reading/listening to them in order for the character arc.

- Fair Game by Josh Lanyon. Suspense, mystery.

- The I Spy series, also by Josh Lanyon. Suspense and romantic suspense as well.

Which character – as performed by Adrian Bisson – was your favorite?

Taylor. Adrian has captured his voice just as, even better actually, than i imagined it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Taylor's reactions in particular triggered similar reactions in me, there were moments when my heart ached with what he was going through and moments when his enthusiasm made me as happy as he was.

Struggle to connect

Josh Lanyon is definitely my go-to author but I'm struggling to stay connected to these characters. Maybe because I only feel we know them superficially with no real background or support cast besides the bad guys. After reading the Adrian English series, I was hoping to connect like that to Will and Taylor but it's just not happening. I think I'm going to have to move on to other Lanyon work. Also, I'm not liking this narrator at all. sounds too robotic. The 1st book I thought it was a digital voice. He's gotten marginally better this book but still not great.

I'm hooked

I am really enjoying this series. Taylor and Will are quickly becoming a favorite couple. They have great adventures and this series focuses a lot more on the relationship than other Josh Lanyon series. It great seeing the passion and insecurities warring with each other. And in typical alpha male fashion, the lack of communicating the depth of feelings. Overall, a great balance without being overly dramatic. On to book 3.

I'm hooked

It's Josh Lanyon.. that's all that needs to be said. It's a great sequel to the first book in the series. The character development is fantastic, I really like that we are slowly learning more about Taylor and Will and the action had me hooked from the beginning. Can't wait to see where they head next!
