Publisher's summary

Three darkly funny thrillers from USA Today best-selling author Angela Pepper writing as Gia Pere:

His Last Wife: A mysterious woman on the run joins an aging A-list actor on a tropical film set where a sudden tragedy puts everyone in jeopardy.

Sofia is having her Cinderella moment. She's plucked from obscurity, and flown to a luxurious location as a companion to an older, but still bankable Hollywood power player. The catch? His family is there for a free vacation, and they're as damaged as they are hard to ignore.

There's the older son, an actor himself, but with a massive chip on his shoulder. There's the daughter, a spoiled teen who treats the world as her personal playground. And then there's the ex-wife, a fading star who's loud and rude, but surprisingly likeable, in her own special way.

All of them want something from Sofia. Can she be everything to everyone, or was inviting her to paradise a huge mistake? They all think they know Sofia, but they're all wrong. Dead wrong. By the time the bodies start piling up, it's already too late.

If you love bad girl antiheroes who make questionable choices without apology, this is the book for you.

Her Sister’s Friends: A woman who always wanted her sister's life finally gets it.

Evie grew up idolizing her older sister’s group of friends. Now, she’s dating one of the guys, and drawing the others back into their tight circle. But the group is hiding a dark secret. When Evie makes a shocking discovery inside a house she’s renovating, she uncovers a web of lies. As Evie gets closer to finding out what really happened one fateful night, the danger grows. Someone she knows would kill to keep the past buried.

Girl in the Shadows: A young woman steps out of the shadows and into a role as a private investigator.

Abby Silver is at a crossroads in her life when she meets an unconventional detective and his even less conventional assistant, a beagle named Chewie.

Bury yourself in this thrilling trilogy!

Mainly my sisters friends review

Well good ending good story. I had a little hard time with the sisters in there mid thirties and forty behaving like junior high it definitely read like a book geared for teenagers so I don’t know it seemed weird but again the story was different I guess it’s not for everyone but it’s good for some.

Truly excellent novels!

HER SISTER'S FRIENDS
Wow, this is a fabulous story, full of recognizable, flawed characters that will grown on you as you keep listening/reading.

The story itself (what did really happen at that solstice party, so many years ago?) is intriguing and we are getting little bits and pieces of it through flashbacks while Evie keeps asking questions and getting no real answers. But the relationship between all of the characters is what really at the core of the story.

Friendships and romances; broken hearts and lies (to others and themselves); little betrayals and undeniable sisterly love... It's fascinating because none of them is perfect, and none of them is a bad person, either. They are people trying to live their lives the best they can. This is a story about kids that, one night, made more than one mistake and about the adults they become.

I must say, I didn't see the end coming, at all. I was fooled more than once by the twists in this story, and it was done so well that I can't be sore about it *laughs*

A great mystery, really worth your time.

HIS LAST WIFE
Oh, this was good! A true rollercoaster but one in which you are blindfolded for most of the ride and you aren't sure if there is a safe landing *laughs*

Seriously, the story kept changing in my mind; any time I thought I knew what was going on bam! I discovered that I knew nothing... and I loved it.

Unpredictable and absorbing, with a very intriguing main character this is a great story!

And, as always, Tiffany Williams does an amazing narration

Fantastic Relationship Thriller 2 Pack-Adult Reads

—I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. - Below are my honest reviews of both books.

The narrator is the same for both books and really does a fabulous job - 5🌟! She is one of my favorite narrators. She's a lot of fun to listen to, does a fantastic job with the voice differentiation, acting, and and I really don't have to speed up the play back.

• His Last Wife •

Parents- PG13- YA to adult geared +17 read
Language- PG- some but not heavy and no f-bombs
Violence- nothing super graphic
Sexual Content- There's a lot of sexual tension and banter, insinuations, lead up and after bedroom scenes but nothing explicit.

This book was so much fun! It has the fun spunky banter I love and makes a great comic relief to the serious murder mystery / relationship thriller side of the story. I don't want to give anything away so I will keep this short. This has a lot of sexual themes even though there are only before and after scenes, making geared for an older crowd. Definitely recommend this for mystery thriller fans.

• Her Sister's Friends •

Parents- R - YA to adult geared +17 read - drug and alcohol abuse, swinging sex party discussions, & potential triggers for assault victims (choking)
Language- PG- some but not heavy and no f-bombs
Violence- nothing super graphic
Sexual Content- R- There's a lot of sexual tension and banter, insinuations, LBGT, crossdressing, sleeping with doctors and much older men, lead up and after bedroom scenes but nothing too explicit, but definitely a enough to make it an adult only read

This was a much longer book than His Last Wife and it was very enjoyable. I loved how this was Evie trying to figure out a strangely hazy summer when she tagged along with her sister and her older group of friends. Very much a crazy/stupid things that high school kids do and then the years later after with them having to come clean. The mystery side was really well done with plenty of twists and turns and an ending that I didn't see coming.

Boxed set

audible:Wow!This was an excellent book!I want more! Who just runs off with a once famous actor to be in a movie and his companion for a week.Tiffany Williams narration made it SO good!
This was a very good book. Evy grated on every nerve as the little sister who was impossible to put off her task. She has a crush on her sisters friends when she is young. At age 11 something happens.Triggered to remember pieces of the incident when she re encounters the place it happened, she seems to think everyones secrets are hers to expose. Tiffany Williams was a great narrator, though 'Zoe Riddle' kept popping out!I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Two Thrilling Tales with Twists and Turns

Disclaimer: I received free copies of the two audiobooks in exchange for an honest review.
Below are my reviews of each book

His Last Wife

Thrills, Chills and Kills
Gia Pere writes a deft drama about a woman who meets a handsome actor and is whisked away for an exotic vacation / filming a low budget film with her love interest’s ex-wife and children in the middle of paradise.

I can give away nothing more than that because the book is face paced, full of twists, turns and even a murder. You will not be able to put this book down from start to finish and you will never guess what is coming next.

Pere’s characters spring to life from witty banter and the narrator Tiffany Williams puts in a stellar performance.

This is an enjoyable romp.

Her Sister's Friends

Real Estate, Revelry, Revelations and Regrets

Her Sister’s Friends is about a young girl who idolized her older sister’s friend group when she was eleven and they were in their late teens. She was the annoying kid sister that would tag along with their antics.
Jump forward a couple decades and she is now in her mid 30’s, dating the hunk of her sister’s friend group and is given a new challenge at work. She finds a great deal on a house to purchase, refurb and flip – however she is warned away from the house without explanation. When she visits she feels déjà vu – she has been there before but has no recollection. When she asks her sister or her friends they all resolutely deny having ever been there.
She stumbles upon physical evidence proving at least one of them had been there – but why lie about it? That is where the mystery really begins – who was there, why were they there, what happened that night and what will the fallout be even 24 years later?
The story is told in modern day (2021 recent with references to very current events) and in a series of flashbacks as little by little the truth is uncovered.
This is a psychological thriller – but the relationships between family and friends is the real heart of it. Gia Pere balances pathos with humor and heart. The story defies you to put it down. The story and its implications will stay with you.
I won’t spoil anything but there is discussion of sexuality (including teenage promiscuity), substance abuse and self harm. Almost all of these actions are “off screen” and it is never graphic nor insensitive in its depictions. If these are triggers I would suggest you stay away and try a lighter novel by Angela Pepper.
Tiffany Williams gives unique but recognizable voices to characters young and old. She is always a delight to listen to.
This was an interesting book to listen to and I could definitely see value in re-reading it with knowledge of what happens to pick up on previous hints/clues and just to spend more time with these 3 dimensional characters.

A BOOK THAT WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO LISTEN

I have the e-book and audio copies of these books.
Her sisters friend : A BOOK THAT WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO LISTEN.
Lovely story done by one of my favourite narrators in an easy listening voice. 15 hours of entertaining, well written intriguing story that is sure to keep you guessing. l enjoyed it a lot even though it wasn't my usual genre of fantasy. The characters were SO believable and l especially liked the boss and identified with the older sister more . The parents are a hoot, omg! RECOMMENDED
His Last Wife : Addictive storyline Recommended
Addictive storyline Recommended
Fantastic story, I am up to Chapter 6 and I already LOVE it. This is some very clever writing. I was offered a copy as you can see but I thought this writer needs to be supported for such an entertaining tale so I bought a copy. The characters jump off the page and this self confident waitress is the bomb, I just don't know what she is going to do next and I am dying to find out about her past.
RECOMMENDED
As you can see I already purchased and reviewed these books separately years before they were combined in this deal, I also purchased this two book deal to support the Author, plus they were a bargain at this price.

Great Read

Psychological Thriller Boxed Set: Darkly Funny Psychological Thrillers with Twist after Twist was a great read by Gia Pere. This box set consists of; His Last Wife, and Her Sister's Friends. His Last Wife was a great read by Gia Pere. Sophia is a mysterious woman on the run. She is having her Cinderella moment when she's plucked from obscurity and flown to a luxurious location as a companion to an older but hot Hollywood power player. She doesn't find out until she gets there that his family is there for a free vacation and they are all damaged. The older son is an actor himself with a massive chip on his shoulder. The daughter is a spoiled teen who treats the world as a personal playground. The ex-wife is a fading star who is loud and rude. Sophia surprisingly finds her likable in her own way. They all want something from Sophia. Her Sister's Friends was a great read by Gia Pere. Evie Laurent grew up in the shadow of her older sister Luna. She always wanted everything Luna had growing up. Evie wanted to be a part of the cool kids that Runs ran with. To Luna, her little sister was a tattle-tale. Evie is now grown up and living with one of Luna's friends, Kyle Turner. He still seems to have many of his childish rebellious antics but Evie finds herself in denial. Evie buys a house that seems familiar, even though Kyle told her not to buy it. She remembers that she was once there at a party. Luna and all her friends swear that they have never been to the house but they couldn't explain all the things that Evie finds. Evie will stop at nothing to figure out what happened at that house. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
