Story
To the wider world, Al Pacino exploded onto the scene like a supernova. He landed his first leading role, in The Panic in Needle Park, in 1971, and by 1975, he had starred in four movies—The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, Serpico, and Dog Day Afternoon—that were not just successes but landmarks in the history of film. Those performances became legendary and changed his life forever. Not since Marlon Brando and James Dean in the late 1950s had an actor landed in the culture with such force.

Story
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

Story
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

A great guide if you are thinking of a move
It covers everything—from the basics like visa requirements and healthcare to the fun parts like finding your dream home and diving into the local culture.
What really stands out is how well-researched and detailed it is. You can tell the authors really know their stuff, and they break things down in a way that’s easy to follow, even if you’re totally new to the idea of relocating abroad. I loved how they touch on practical concerns like managing your finances and navigating the Portuguese healthcare system, but they also make room to talk about the joys of living in Portugal—like the food, the stunning landscapes, and how to really immerse yourself in the local communities.
The narrator does a great job of making you feel like you're having a friendly chat about your exciting new adventure. It’s not overwhelming or overly technical, just a really solid, step-by-step guide to making your retirement dreams in Portugal come true.
If you’re serious about retiring to Portugal, or even just curious, I’d highly recommend giving this a listen!

Plan to Move to Portugal Someday?
I've always dreamed of visiting Portugal, and while retirement is still a long way off for me, this audiobook was such an interesting listen. It dives into everything you might need to know, from what visas and healthcare you need to finding the right place to settle. Even though I'm not close to making a move, I found the real-life expat stories and insider tips super helpful. It's nice to have this knowledge in my back pocket, just in case I ever decide to make a big change. I will definitely have to add the town of Algarve on Portugal's southern coast to my list of places to visit someday. It looks absolutely beautiful! If you're curious about life in Portugal, give this audiobook a listen!
