About this listen

Are you tired of saying yes to people so often that you constantly feel burnt-out and exhausted? Do you want to know how to say no and stop bending over backward just to please everyone except yourself? Then I advise you to keep reading.

It’s never fun spending your time drowning in the shadows of others because you don’t have the heart to say no. Many people walk through their life with muffled voices and compromised needs because they give too much of themselves away to others. They sacrifice their personal freedom for a measly sense of approval, all an attempt to remain in good graces and evade conflict.

But the truth is, you can’t live your life in hiding. You can’t squander your own desires and needs forever just to please the people in your life.

In Stop People Pleasing & Be Unapologetic, you will discover:

  • The most common characteristics indicative of a people-pleaser, so that you can make note of the traits that resonate with you and your experiences
  • The detrimental costs of continued people-pleasing that you need to become aware of to take control of your life again
  • A list of common root causes for people-pleasing behaviors, with a detailed look at parent-child relationships
  • How to conquer your fear and say no to others without being rude or feeling guilty afterwards
  • How to take back your power and stop apologizing, understanding when it’s appropriate to apologize, and knowing how to apologize the right way
  • How to stop letting people walk all over you and saying good-bye to being a pushover forever
  • Actionable tips and tricks to practice in your life to break away from people-pleasing once and for all
  • And so much more value.

You've served your life for others for a long time. More than anything, you deserve to choose how you spend your time. You deserve to be bold and live unapologetically. Buy the book, and change your life.

Great advice!

I like the way this book teaches that it’s ok to say no. It’s ok to be your authentic self and there is nothing wrong with self-love. Great teachings!

AMAZING!!!

Truly, this audiobook hit it on the mark. It felt like I was listening to my friend give me the best pieces of advice to help me “stop people pleasing.” It’s such an engaging audiobook! Each chapter gives valuable insight into a particular people-pleasing tendency and ways to help combat the tendency. I loved the little anecdotes from the author’s life because they were relatable and funny! Near the end of the book, the author tells us more about her life and personal journey with people pleasing, which was great because I know the author is relatable. This book is chalk full of information and great tips! I was even able to hone in on some personality traits I have that are a reflection of people pleasing. This audiobook is also not super long and the narration is very sweet! I can’t wait to practice some of the things I learned. So enjoyable, and I highly recommend!

Don't go on that guilt trip

I would not say I am a pushover or people pleaser, but I was raised to be polite and have manners. Some people sorely mistake basic politeness with having no boundaries at all, and will make outrageous requests of my time - babysitting on short notice without pay, working hours on the job "for exposure" without pay, a boor not understanding my kindly turning down a date, and so on. I am only amazed that people are so shocked and amazed when confronted with a healthy, unbothered "no thank you, I can't" without further explanation. It's like I -betrayed- them, lol. This has opened my eyes to wanting to reclaim my time and attention in all areas of my life. This book "Stop People Pleasing and Be Unapologetic" points out things I hadn't maybe thought of, and offers simple tools for if I freeze up (you know, because the request / expectation is so audacious). Good listen, but you'll want to relisten every so often.

I wish I knew about this book sooner!

I have so much gratitude for this book. It validated all the feelings I've been having, and I now understand that I'm not the only one with all these people-pleasing tendencies. I always thought I was over-extending myself. I sometimes felt taken advantage of. Even though I don't like to admit it, I guess deep down a lot of us crave validation. This book helped me realize that, but also made me realize that I'm stronger than needing validation from others. This was like a road map to becoming unapologetic. I am forever grateful for this book. I wish it existed in my early 20's. It would've saved me a lot of hard learned lessons over the years. Save yourself time, and get the book! I promise you it's worth it, and the narration is great too!

This is the book I needed 10 Years ago !!!!!

Omg, this book has literally reinforced the thoughts I have been struggling with lately. I have always been a people pleaser, and a little bit of a pushover, and lately I have just been sick of it. I have been trying to establish clear boundaries in my life and putting myself first. This book is perfect for anyone who needs guidance on how to focus and prioritize yourself and your goals without feeling guilty. I appreciate this book so much!

I can’t believe how relatable this is!

This book is a savior. It’s SO relatable. It’s like everything the author said was about me. All the tendencies and people pleasing habits talked about in this book is what I’ve experienced in my life. There is so much good content in this book, with a few practical tips and the author’s own story at the end. The narration was spot on for me, very engaging. I liked that everything in the title of the book is actually in the book itself. This book delivers on its promise, and I loved it! I can’t wait break away from some of the habits I’ve developed, and I’ll be recommending this book to all my friends!

SAVING GRACE

This was a really enlightening book, and I loved seeing the author’s personal journey come to life in the last chapter. I have always bent over backwards for people my entire life. I’m the type of person who has a hard time saying no. I always end up doing favors that I don’t want to because I feel guilty. I always catch myself saying sorry for things I didn’t even do. I know I’ve been a pushover for a majority of my life. But I was reaching a breaking point. I wanted out, something to help me. The way this audiobook was written, I know the author has dealt with the same issues and understands my struggles. The author spewed so much knowledge and practical advice in this book. I was overwhelmed, but in a good way. I feel equipped to make changes and take my life back. I love the little anecdotes in the audiobook. I LOVE this book. I feel more empowered to be better for myself and step into discomfort to break my people pleasing habits. I really can’t thank the author enough. I SERIOUSLY recommend this book. For real.

A beautiful step on my journey

This book is incredibly relatable! I loved the author’s background story about being a compulsive people pleaser, which made me feel like the next step, the one where I can detach myself from the hold of what people think, is fully accessible right here and now. I spent most of my life being a pushover, being a target for manipulation, and thinking that this was the way to be kind and to be accepted by others. This book taught me to find balance between valuing certain opinions with crushing my own will. My adult life has been driven by the search for authenticity, and this was a beautiful step on my journey.
