Publisher's summary

The second book in the Filthy Trilogy - Eric and Harper's story continues....

He's the bastard of the empire, a savant, a genius, and a self-made success. He left it all behind, but he came back for her.

Their passion is a flame that ignites more than their bond. It ignites secrets, lies, and a puzzle that once solved, will shake them to the core. You know one deep, dark secret, but you do not yet know anywhere near everything.

I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!

I love listening to lisa's books but these cliffhangers are killing me! Great book don't get me wrong but I find this book could have been done in 1 novel and the sad part is book 3 is not out on audible :(

drags on

it's a good story but I don't understand why it needs to stay out into more than 2 books? ugh.

Cliffhanger

Without giving the story away, I felt Harper’s issues were too drag out to the point I almost did not want to finish the book. I don’t love Harper’s narrator because sometime her male voice just blend in with Harper’s voice.

Too much

After the first book (which I’ve fell in love with) I was expecting more🤔😏definitely disappointed with how much talking there was with the second book, hopefully the last one will be better !!!

Fluff

I felt like this book was just fluff. The first book was decent but this one's whole story line could have been summed up real quick in a chapter or two. But I will continue to book 3 just because I need to see what happens. Thankfully it's in the escape package because I would not have spent a credit on it.
Jason Clarke's voice is amazing as always, I wish more chapters were his. I have always loved Erin but the more I listen to her, the more kind of annoying it gets the way she drags out words. Like they are really breathy at the end of the word.
Overall, this book was just ok.

Enjoyable

I love the narrators...his voice is mesmerizing. Female character is a bit dramatic and over emotional at times. For goodness sakes, can we have some mention of a clean up after sex? Just bam, bam, get dressed. Several sex in the same day without a mention of a shower or clean up. Just hurriedly get dressed. Makes me a little uncomfortable. Just nasty. I’m anal that way.

Tug of war

The repetitivness drove me insane! The build up drama felt stretched; it was as if drama was created just to fill the page. There were times in which I felt as though one chapter mirrored the another chapter. Then again, there is a great storyline here. My only issue was the back and forth of the same same issues with no real growth for the characters, no answers to some of the issues, and the cut off. I'm hoping book 3 clears everything up.

the female voice is distractingly awful

I have listened to a couple of books by this author and they're all narrated by the same woman. she has this repetitive vocal fry and delivers certain lines with this forced breathy wine that is ridiculously irritating. it's not like it's her normal voice it's the way she chooses to deliver the characters and therefore more obnoxious.

the storyline in this book has by far been the weakest of the three. it took me a minute to realize the entire book takes place over 48-hours essentially. so there is a lot of back-and-forth overly angsty scenes between the main characters that just feel drawn out. The whole series could have been capped to a book or two. five books were not necessary
