Autism Explained

This book explains what autism is, the strengths and abilities, as well as the challenges and struggles, of being autistic. It also goes over the social aspect, including navigating relationships and entering the workforce. As this book is written directly for those diagnosed with autism, the 'community and advocacy,' and 'coping mechanisms' sections lend important support. It helps the autistic person understand their condition, embrace it, and live a normal life.

A Real Eye Opening Approach to Autism

I'll be honest: I had very little understanding of autism and neurodiversity before this book. From the very first chapter, I gained a clearer grasp of the challenges and strengths of being autistic. I appreciated the empathetic approach and the celebration of neurodiversity, overcoming stereotypes in the movies and news. I particularly enjoyed the meditations and coping mechanisms explained and taught to allow transition into future relationships and jobs. A very intelligent book!

Great information about autism.

I have a 2-year-old step-grandson who has been exhibiting some behaviors that didn't seem "normal," and he's yet to utter a single word. I was suspicious that he may have autism, and after listening to this audiobook, I'm convinced he does. We live in a rural area, and it's time to find a specialist to get an official diagnosis and begin addressing this head-on.

This book has tons of good information about autism, from diagnosis to living a full life. It has provided me with optimism that didn't exist before...mostly due to my apparent ignorance on this topic. I'm extremely happy I listened to this audiobook and am starting to take action to get him the help he needs.

Excellent Guide for Truly Understanding Autism

As a parent trying my best to navigate the world of autism, I found this audiobook both insightful and reassuring. It's like having someone sit down with you and break things down in a way that actually makes sense. The narrator’s voice is calm and comforting, which kept me engaged throughout. What stood out the most was how it addressed both the challenges and the unique strengths of neurodiverse individuals. I’ve walked away with a deeper understanding of autism, and I feel more prepared to support my child’s journey. This audiobook doesn't just offer knowledge—it fosters compassion and awareness. I highly recommend it for parents, teachers, or anyone wanting to expand their understanding of neurodiversity.

This audiobook does an incredible job of breaking down the complexities of autism in a way that is both compassionate and empowering.

The author takes the reader on a journey that acknowledges the challenges of living in a neurotypical world while highlighting the unique strengths and beauty of the autistic mind. Learning beyond the noise

My nephew has been recently diagnosed with autism, and I really didn't understand it. I felt the noise on TV about it being really far off from reality. This audiobook is just what I needed. The book is easy to follow and really shows what autism is about and how to support your family. I feel so much more prepared to help with my nephew and support my sister through this.
