Publisher's summary

"One day Jack asked me, 'What color do you see for Monday?' 'What?' I said distractedly. 'Do you see days as colors?'"

Raising five children would be challenge enough for most parents, but when one of them has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, life becomes a bit more chaotic, a lot more emotional, and full of fascinating glimpses into a unique child's different way of thinking. In this moving memoir, Carrie Cariello invites us to take a peek into exactly what it takes to get through each day juggling the needs of her whole family. Through hilarious mishaps, honest insights, and heartfelt letters addressed to her children, she shows us the beauty and wonder of raising a child who views the world through a different lens and how ultimately autism changed her family for the better.

Took the words right from my mama heart

As a mother of child with autism, I constantly read about the negative, the ugly and all the “bad”. This book took the words right from my heart, how beautiful the mind is that comes with autism. How it truly does make you a better person knowing and raising a child whose brain operates different. That your exposure to autism is in fact a blessing! . I wish I could give this book a thousand starts. Thank you Carrie for writing this. Thank you for writing what my heart needed to hear.

Highly recommend

This was a great book and the quality of the audiobook was also incredible! This book would be great for anyone to read but I highly recommend it for special educators and parents of children with autism.

Wonderful book about a family .

The author writes in a warm, loving way explaining the journey of raising 5 children; one with autism. The audio book, read by the author, provides a beautiful narrative of her family!

Fabulous story of a family’s journey with autism

This is a great listen/read. The author weaves a poignant tale a her family’s experience with autism and how they all grow. The author is witty, the story is touching and leaves you with warmth in your heart. I listen to a lot of audio books and the performance and production on this are spot on. The narrator has a pleasing voice, is engaging and the narration is well paced.
