Publisher's summary

No matter how hard we try, many of us struggle to make love work with our partners. The problem, as clinical psychologist Dr. Ron Frederick explains, is that our brains are running on outdated software. Without us knowing it, our early relationship programming causes us to fear being more emotionally present and authentic with our partners - precisely what’s needed to build loving connections. But we don’t have to remain prisoners to our past.

Grounded in cutting-edge neuroscience and attachment theory, Loving Like You Mean It shares a proven four-step approach to use emotional mindfulness to break free from old habits, befriend your emotional experience, and develop new ways of relating. The capacity for deep, loving connections is inside all of us, waiting to come out. By practicing the science behind Loving Like You Mean It, your relationships can be fuller and richer than you ever imagined.

I know from personal experience the power and effectiveness of this work

I've been coaching for the last 4 years and Have also been through a lot of therapy received. A lot of coaching and studied many different modalities of personal development, self help and therapy. I've come from a background of extensive childhood abuse and know with absolute certainty, after overcoming all that I lived through, that the methods and practices and insights offered through this book and the work associated with AEDP is incredibly effective and valuable, not because I've done AEDP but because I've done many practices that have lead me to the same gift of a perspective on life that this work offers.

Equipping Us to Transform Our Relationships

This book breaks down why we might have developed a way of relating to our partners that is not as effective as we want it to be. It then teaches us how to reprogram our early learning and change our mental software so that we can have healthy, happy relationships. Dr. Frederick puts the power of therapy right into our own hands by teaching us how to reflect on the impact of our past and then connect with ourselves in the present to retrain the way we relate to others. The books is full of rich content, made easy to understand for the layperson. The book allowed me to learn and reflect at my own pace. I had some major "aha" moments. It helped me feel more compassion for myself and more empowered to grow in my skill with relating to my husband. I highly recommend this gem of a book!

Well Done!!

Excellent. Has a good balance of presenting a process along with examples to demonstrate. It will take time and continued practice but I believe this audio contains a key to improving relationships with oneself and others and can lead to a more fulfilling and compassionate life. I will definitely revisit. I only wish it included chapter names instead of just chapter numbers.
