Very happy to find this book!

Reading this book was confirmation that my father was always right. Many years ago, I watched my father get up at 5 am and whether it was winter or summer, the first thing he did was take a cold shower before going to work. And what energy he had. I used to say he was a bull. I particularly hate being cold and cold water doesn't appeal to me, although I know from experience that there is nothing better for the health of the skin. I lived for several years where the climate was very hot and we never used heated water for our baths and I always had hydrated and firm skin. When we changed and started using hot water due to the cold the skin instantly started to feel flabby and dehydrated. But this book's step-by-step guide to adapting again independently of the weather is sensational. An important thing to note is that he also warns of the dangers of low temperatures and the care that must be taken in this process. I will certainly be practicing these steps to try to improve my health and healthy appearance. It really is worth the read.

Can't wait to try this!

I've heard of high-achievers using cold water therapy (mainly cold showers at 5 am) as a way to wake up and get invigorated for the day but, happily, this book goes way beyond that. I like the in-depth and straightforward 3 step approach. Can't wait to give it a try.

AN AMAZING GUIDE!!

This guide is extremely helpful because it offers a unique and accessible way to improve both physical and mental well-being. In a world full of challenges of fatigue, pain and stress, this book offers a promising solution through cold exposure therapy. By learning the science behind cryotherapy and providing practical tips, it empowers individuals to take control of their health. Also, cold therapy is effective because of its ability to reduce inflammation, reduce pain, and enhance recovery from injuries. It also promotes increased blood circulation, helping to deliver nutrients and oxygen to the tissues. Athletes often use cold therapy to speed recovery after exercise and reduce muscle soreness. I appreciate the author for covering an important topic and presenting such a wonderful work. Highly recommended!

Cold Therapy 101

A manual for any level of interest, with straightforward, honest guidance about risks for people with prior conditions; this book is the perfect introduction to everything you need to know about cold therapy to get your feet wet.

I like that it touches on a lot of the science without going too in depth to help the average reader, and also avoids the pseudoscience other authors who write about cold exposure dip into.

An interesting topic

I have heard of cold therapy, but never in as much detail as this book has provided. Honestly, I didn't even know that switching between hot and cold water was a form of therapy or that it had its own name. Over the years, I noticed I lack energy and am no longer accustomed to the things I used to be, like the cold, which I would like to change. After listening to this book, I am going to try cold therapy to see if it is right for me, especially since it can help me turn off my brain for a few minutes a day. 😊

#GoTeamSpaceshipEarth

I have been practicing Wim style breath work and cold/contrast therapy for about 6 years now, daily, and I have consumed most of the literature that has been written on the subject. James does an immaculate job in communicating all of the things that beginners, novice or expert level Hoffers should know in order to give them the highest chance of the best results. Not to tense up and to remain calm wasn't stressed enough in the early years of the teachings.

I am pleased to hear folks mentioning it more and more. I feel like many people have lost interest due to it stressing them too much, which can happen if you tense up in the cold. You really gotta keep those muscles loose in the cold (and also during the breath hold, and through the duration of your first breath after retention, as well). It is vital. Difficult to do for the first month or so, but taking a few deep, slow nasal breaths prior to exposure to the cold water, and maintaining slow nasal breaths through the duration, is a great hack, as the nitric oxide you get from the nasal breathing, takes a lot of the unnecessary panic away.

Also, the narrator Darian is very skilled! I highly recommend to all!
