About this listen

Over the next five years, millions of more Americans are expected to take Ozempic and other GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, which are rapidly being recognized as the miracle drugs of this century. If you’re not on them, you’ll probably know someone who is. What are the implications of the widespread use of these drugs, both on our bodies and our society? In this show, you’ll meet people across America who are either taking the jab or thinking about it, and the shocking intentional and unintentional results they are seeing. The Thin Line looks at the promise and the peril of GLP-1s today, and explores what will happen in the near future with the democratization of these breakthrough drugs.

Informative and realistic

Great show! They found great people to interview, doctors who are deep in the beauty industry and perspectives of people who struggle with their weight and make you feel seen.

Valuable perspectives

LOTS of nervous laughter. Good info but still believe leaner is better - preferably without GLPs which solve the symptoms but only make the problem worse...

More balanced than expected and very comprehensive

For the record, I’m not longer with WW for reasons I think the host could pick up on during our interview. Kudos for including the attempted interference from corporate PR person. I hollered. It’s art. Thanks for putting this together Scaachi et al. -Summer (ch 7)

Informative and entertaining

I really appreciated the candor in reporting. I felt the information was well balanced and well researched. But not boring! It was relevant and evaluated an important timely issue from many angles. Plus I love this authors mom being involved. What a great and very personal touch. Because we all care about what our moms think, even if they are not ‘experts’.

I wanted more

Super informative showed a lot of angles would love to hear more. It would be nice to have this in a second book maybe focusing on more of the same. I would also like to hear more about type two diabetics, who had to go on the drug for the reason it was made, and had success, or did not have success.

Incredibly interesting

I really loved this perspective on GLP1s. As a bigger body woman, I battle with should the question “should i too get on them?” And it was nice to hear other people having this same question and the ups and downs of weight loss today in the Semaglutide era. Give it a listen.!

Current. Relatable.

I thought it was a nice overview. A breakdown of how the med works would have been informative. Would have liked to have learned more about the negative effects of the medication’s as well. She focused mostly on the positive. Did appreciate her discussions on how the med is changing not only people’s weight but the culture of dating, addiction, food industry, ect.
