Somewhere in the heart of Africa, a young archaeologist disappeared in the remote jungle mountains - Erich von Harben, son of an old missionary friend of Tarzan of the Apes. Llana of Gathol is a unique volume in John Carter’s Barsoom series. While the previous books featured a single story throughout, Llana of Gathol is an anthology of four shorter tales written later in Edgar Rice Burroughs’ life. These stories are, The Ancient Dead, The Black Pirates of Barsoom, Yellow Men on Mars and Invisible Men of Mars. These are also considered to be the John Carter stories with the most humor, and explore the life of an older John Carter, Llana of Gathol being his granddaughter.

"The Master Mind of Mars" is a science fantasy novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs, the sixth of his Barsoom series. Burroughs' working titles for the novel were "A Weird Adventure on Mars" and "Vad Varo of Barsoom". It was first published in the magazine "Amazing Stories Annual" vol. 1, on July 15, 1927. The first book edition was published by A. C. McClurg in March 1928.

The Son of Tarzan is Edgar Rice Burroughs' fourth novel in the Tarzan series. First serialized between 1915 and 1916 in All-Story Weekly, it was published as a novel in 1917. Narrowly surviving his encounter with his enemy Tarzan in The Beasts of Tarzan, Alexis Paulvitch has a score to settle. He lures Tarzan's son Jack away from London and captures him, only to have Jack escape into the jungle that Tarzan once called home.
