Critic reviews

"I confess to being a full-blown 'gymophobe.' (I still have flashbacks of my mean fourth-grade gym teacher!) Tony actually makes the gym panic-attack free." (Tom Kenny, voice of SpongeBob)

Walking Proof

Would you consider the audio edition of Kick Your Fat in the Nuts to be better than the print version?

I put them on the same level depending on where you are during the day.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tony

What does Donny Baarns bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It is always great to hear a book in another persons voice so I can pick up things I may have missed by reading myself.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I think the title of the book is tag line enough. I mean who doesn't want to kick their fat in the nuts?

Any additional comments?

I purchased the book a year ago and downloaded the audio book several weeks ago when I learned it was available. It is great to re-read portions of the book as a refresher as well as listen to the book as well. I have picked up things I had either forgotten or skimmed over when I read the book myself. I have used the information in this book to assist me with my transformation from a size 44 pants to a size 34 pants in one year. I have changed my diet and added exercise but also employed several things that Tony talks about in the book such as making sure digestion is right and adding certain supplements based on what my body is doing. It is an ever changing process but well worth the effort!

Hilarious way to teach us why we are fat!

Where does Kick Your Fat in the Nuts rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have listened to other self-help audiobooks, some that put me to sleep, but not this one! I love the humor and easy to understand language that T.C. Hale uses to explain how our bodies work and how to perform self tests to find out what our bodies are doing, individually.
I love that he teaches that no one diet is going to work for everyone, because all our bodies work differently.

What other book might you compare Kick Your Fat in the Nuts to and why?

I honestly have never read/listened to another book like this one. This information was all very new to me, because it's not what main stream medicine teaches, but it all made sense to me. I felt like I was being given a gift!

What does Donny Baarns bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think it would've been better if T.C. Hale narrated it. I have heard his voice from his podcasts so it was weird to hear someone else saying things he says. But if you don't know what he sounds like then it really wouldn't matter. I think Donny Baarns did a great job, it just was weird for me, personally.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Well, no. This book will definitely make you laugh and I guess maybe cry happy tears, because your body is finally making sense!

Any additional comments?

I think T.C. Hale is a genius and I'm so grateful to have found this book. It made a huge difference in my life. I'm so thankful he decided to put this information out into the world!

My LAST diet book . . .

Where does Kick Your Fat in the Nuts rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

KICK YOUR FAT IN THE NUTS IS one of the very best in regard to it's content and presentation.

What other book might you compare Kick Your Fat in the Nuts to and why?

I can't think of another nutritional book that compares to the insight or truth of KICK YOUR FAT IN THE NUTS. Most other diet books are just trying to sell the reader a "program" to lose weight in the short term--this book views the excess weight as a SYMPTOM of greater issues to be solved. KICK YOUR FAT IN THE NUTS wants to RESOLVE the problems that contribute to excess fat, not just temporarily have someone lose weight, maybe in an unhealthy way.

What about Donny Baarns’s performance did you like?

I really liked his performance because he did such a good job emulating the author, but I kind of wished T. C. Hale had read the book himself. I find T.C. Hale's voice very pleasing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had an extreme reaction to the content because as I was listening, it supplied explanations not only for my weight issues, but also for many of the physical and emotion problems that have been nagging me my entire life. This book provided me with ANSWERS. It made me feel HOPE that I could someday overcome my weight problem and health issues.

Any additional comments?

As someone who has personally been a dieter for over 40 years and have read literally hundreds of diet books, this book will be the MY LAST ONE. It provides the answers and solutions that I've been desperately searching for--I hope everyone who struggles with their weight has the opportunity to hear it.

Kicking my fat in the nuts

Would you consider the audio edition of Kick Your Fat in the Nuts to be better than the print version?

I love to have the printed edition in hand to be able to flip to whatever information I need in a hurry. However, being able to listen while I'm cleaning, driving, working, taking a nap...whatever helps me to better learn the information. The book is stocked full of superior information needed to correct one's digestion, which in turn betters the health, fixing a plethora of maladies. It also makes you feel a whole lot better, and having that inf ormation delivered in a way that is humorous and light makes it easier to digest. (See what I did there?)

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character is Kinna. I've started a fan club for her. I don't have many members, but I'm working on it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole section on pooping moved me.

Any additional comments?

In all seriousness, get this book. Join the Facebook group supporting those who are following T,.C. Hale, and the other guys. Your health questions are answered quickly, you can check up on yourself. Learn about the digestive online course, podcasts. It's a good time.
I used to suffer from anxiety, (He told me to Simma Down.) and following the advice provided by Tony, It's under control. I've lost weight, and it's stayed off. I was able to correct gall stone issues without having the gall bladder removed. But if I'd had it removed, he would have been able to help me with that.

Best health and weight loss advice you will find!

Would you consider the audio edition of Kick Your Fat in the Nuts to be better than the print version?

The audio version of Kick Your Fat in the Nuts is a great supplement to the written book. There is so much information covered in this book that it is helpful to be able to both listen and read to absorb as much information as possible.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kick Your Fat in the Nuts?

The realization that fat loss comes from less insulin spikes. So that harmless dessert or juice you want with a meal while trying to lose weight proves not to be quite so harmless after all! Also, working out is not quite as important as most fitness gurus make it out to be.

Have you listened to any of Donny Baarns’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book is great because you get to learn all about your health and it is a comedian telling the story. So while getting the best health advice I have ever received (and I have been reading about health and fitness for 20+ years), the book is also very entertaining.

Any additional comments?

I accidentally stumbled across the written version of this book while trying to drop a few (or a lot) of pregnancy pounds. Other diets I tried in the past just did not seem to be working. Having been a yo-yo dieter most of my life, I thought I screwed up my metabolism and I just did not want to diet anymore. The thought of counting calories or carbs once again instilled pure dread in me. This book made so much sense and changed the way I thought of healthy eating all together. No more diets. No more counting calories. No more obsessive exercising....and the weight is just dropping off. I feel good every day and it is not even difficult. I decided to trust the author 100% with my progress and that decision is paying off every day. Not only have the pounds and inches been melting away, I have also fixed so many health problems that have plagued me for many years. By following the book's advice I no longer buy meds for migraines, heartburn, anxiety, nausea or achy joints/back pain. It only made sense to me to buy the audio book and use it in conjunction with the written version of the book.

An approach to "dieting" whose time has come

Would you listen to Kick Your Fat in the Nuts again? Why?

Yes! Yes! Yes! So much authentic information on how you can manage your own weight loss journey based on your own body chemistry. Learn and embrace your uniqueness as a human being and why 99% of the programs on the market today are quick fixes. I am free from my frustrations! Tony is funny and I found all my laughing as a healing and uplifting way to move forward in a positive direction. Since listening to the audio, I have been on track with my food plan and feel like a have personal contact whispering empowerment cheers or supportive actions in my ears whenever I want.

What did you like best about this story?

Tony has answered my prayers. As a child I weighed over 200 lbs. and lost most of the weight through an over eaters 12 step program support group. One thing I learned over the years is that many over eaters have a chemical imbalance. Although I had lost the weight I had never been at peace with my eating habits, couldn't find the balance and eventually gained back a portion of my weight through different triggers and don't even get me started on menopause.Tony creates a structure for yourself as an individual that is empowering, plus he gives lots of support links on his website and also shared about a closed Facebook group....so it is almost like going back to a support group environment using modern technology. Most importantly I find that I am not alone and don't have to spend tons of money for a magic cure...just honor my own personal body chemistry.

What does Donny Baarns bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I read the book as well and Donny Baarns first of all is a good Tony impersonator. If you ever listened to Tony's videos or pod-casts the inflections and timing are nicely matched. From listening to the audio version, I missed some important aspects in the book of how to follow the program, especially when I hit a rough spot. I feel Donny is talking to me personally during those rough patches which they review - Specifically for me cravings since I have low blood pressure. I understand the cycle more, the frenzy that I dipped into and how to overcome it to move on to happier triumphant days.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes! The extreme reaction is that I want to participate in life thoroughly and not let my body chemistry get the best of me and my talents. I laughed all the way through.

Any additional comments?

Easy listening. If you want to laugh at your situation to give you more strength on your health journey, this is a must read. Most importantly is you are sick and tired of the rampage of programs out there from Juicing to fasting, to meal replacements to living in the gym and nothing is working or with any permanence this may be perfectly timed for you to review. If you know you are not crazy with all you are doing and not getting the results you think you should, then this is the book for you. However if you are looking for the quick fix which I know so many people are, than at this point no need to bother unless you like to add to your collection or you just need a good laugh.

Real Solutions

One of the best books I've ever read on how to understand what is happening in the body and why. I love the vids on YouTube as well! It's easy to lose weight when problems in the body are corrected. What good is a lean body without good health anyway? This book will guide people on how to lengthen their lives as well. Oh, and the comedy! I decided to listen only at home so that my suddenly laughing out loud wouldn't make me look crazy if listening in a public place. 😂✌🌸
