In this second chapter of the Gospel of Mark, four men break down a roof as they bring their paralytic friend down to where Jesus is as He was preaching, and Jesus, seeing their faith, heals the paralytic man, and the man starts to walk. Soon after, Jesus calls the tax collector to follow Him and He has dinner with him in his house, along with other tax collectors and sinners. The Pharisees asked why He did this, and Jesus answers that He didn't come to call the righteous, but sinners.

In this first chapter of the Gospel of Mark, we are introduced to John the Baptist, who is preaching about the coming of the Messiah, and baptizing people for repentance, until Jesus Himself comes to be baptized, and as He is baptized, the Holy Spirit comes upon Him, and after His baptism and temptation, He heads to Galilee where He begins His ministry.

In Chapter 4 of the Gospel of Matthew, after Jesus was baptized, the Spirit leads Him into the desert as He is fasting for 40 days and 40 nights, being hungry afterward. And Satan appears to Him, and He tries to tempt Jesus to His bidding, seeing if He would fail into his trap, like how he tempted Adam and Eve, but Jesus overcomes Satan's temptations, and Satan leaves. And Jesus starts His ministry in Galilee and calls His first disciples to follow Him.

The sixth chapter of The Gospel of John begins with the miracle of Jesus feeding 5,000 people with just five barley loaves and two fish. After the people are filled, they recognize Him as a prophet and attempt to make Him king, but Jesus withdraws to a mountain alone. Later that evening, Jesus' disciples set out across the Sea of Galilee, and Jesus walks on water to meet them. The following day, the crowd finds Jesus and asks Him for more signs, which leads to His teaching about being the "bread of life."
